The Sleimans
What they’re doing:
Milard and Joyce have been serving in Lebanon for almost 18 years. Milard pastors their church and leads a wonderful ministry team with a focus on outreach, discipleship, and training leaders. Joyce assists with pastoral care, counselling, women’s ministry. Milard has also worked for over 5 years as the Dean of Students at the Baptist Seminary and has preached in many churches across Lebanon to encourage the Pastors and church members. Their church, Christ the King, began as a church plant in 2013 and has now grown with a number of home groups and youth programs. They hope to also start a new church plant, God willing.
Gabriella is now completing a one year internship as a Pharmacist at Dubbo base hospital. Daniella is finishing her International Studies degree, while Joel is still in Lebanon finishing his freshman year in May 2020.
Mission in Lebanon:
Lebanon is located in the Middle East, bordering with Israel and Syria. With a population of almost 4.3 million, about 65% are Muslim and 35% are Catholic and Orthodox, with only 0.5% being evangelical Christians*. Lebanon has had a complex history caught up in lots of regional conflict. Lebanon is currently facing a terrible economic crisis with businesses closing, high unemployment and high inflation. Many people cannot access their money from banks and are leaving the country in search of work. It is a dire situation with the nation facing bankruptcy. The church is also struggling with many key people leaving the country to work elsewhere. In the midst of all this, the church strives to be light and salt and demonstrate the hope in Christ – the only hope for Lebanon.

How to support them:
1. Pray:
· For Christ the King Church to be Christ’s love, light and salt in the local community. Pray that the church would be faithful disciples, sharing the hope of Christ and bringing people to transforming faith in Jesus.
· For Milard, Joyce, and their children to grow in the love of God every day and to know His goodness, protection and provision. Pray that they would continue to experience the love of Jesus and keep being filled with the Holy Spirit to equip the believers for the work of the ministry.
· Pray for peace and stability in Lebanon and that the Evangelical Church would be a great witness of God’s love so that many may put their trust in Jesus alone.
